We’re excited to have been been nominated for two accolades at the Royal Television Society (RTS) West of England Awards 2022.
Our team at A Productions has made the shortlist in the Children’s category for JoJo & Gran Gran, and in the Animation category for Furry Friends Forever: Elmo Gets A Puppy. The RTS champions broadcast, film and digital production, with its West of England annual awards recognising the very best of the region’s creative community.
“Every year, our awards get better and better as our creative talent grows and develops to produce outstanding global and national productions, which win huge audiences. This year’s nominations, in all genres, are at the top of their game. Congratulations to them all.” commented Lynn Barlow, RTS West of England Chair and Assistant Vice-Chancellor Creative and Cultural Industries Engagement at UWE.
JoJo & Gran Gran is produced by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions for CBeebies in collaboration with A Productions. The hugely successful children’s TV series is already multi award winning; most recently it was named Best Mixed-Media Series at the Kidscreen Awards 2022.
Furry Friends: Elmo Gets a Puppy is a new 30-minute animated special for Sesame Workshop, which premiered in August 2021 on HBO Max and will air on PBS KIDS in 2022.
Katherine McQueen, joint managing director of A Productions, said: “We are proud of our incredible team who produce shows of outstanding quality for children and their families to enjoy – congratulations to everyone involved. The calibre of the shortlist is testament to the strength of the amazing creative community based in Bristol and the West of England, which continues to make waves both on the national and international stage.”
A ceremony will be held at Bristol Old Vic on October 2 to announce the winners. Watch this space!
